  • Prospect lines up in a two point stance behind start line

  • Prospect starts at own discretion. Timer begins when prospect crosses start line

  • Prospect must complete course as fast a possible without touching the cones

  • Time is recorded when prospect crosses finish line

  • Prospect gets 2 attempts, only best time will be recorded and used

Why it’s important: First developed and used by the DFB (Germany’s national football team) to measure athletic ability, the mountain run is one of the most accurate measures of a prospects agility. Soccer is a sport that requires athletes to change direction quickly and navigate through tight spaces. The mountain run simulates these movements, helping to measure a soccer prospects ability to change direction with speed and precision.
